Vacancies to rise -- but so will asking rents -- in Twin Cities' multi-family sector

The Twin Cities' multi-family market remains strong as 2012 heads into its third month. In this, Minneapolis/St. Paul is hardly alone; multi-family ranks as the top commercial market in most major Midwest cities. But the Twin Cities do boast of one unusual fact: While landlords are expected to fetch higher rents this year, the vacancy rate of Minneapolis/St. Paul multi-family properties is actually expected to rise.

HSA Commercial purchases Opus Group-built building in Iowa

Chicago's HSA Commercial Inc. recently purchased a 300,000-square-foot warehouse facility in the Airport Business Park of Des Moines International Airport in Iowa. The building, which was developed as a build-to-suit by The Opus Group in Minneapolis, is fully-leased to a Fortune 10 company and connects via a climate-controlled enclosure to an existing 410,000-square-foot distribution facility.
