Blue Vista Capital management, LLC welcomes Karie Katz, Marcia Matalon May and Matt Schoaf into the Blue Vista family.
As we begin a new year with these new team members and prepare to move into our new office space later this month (353 N Clark, 7th floor), we look forward to the positive momentum 2015 will bring to our firm. We know that Karie, Marcia and Matt will help us continue to achieve great performance results on behalf of our clients and also bring additional experience and insight to our firm.
KARIE KATZ Director, Client Capital Karie Katz is a Director of Client Capital at Blue Vista. Her main responsibilities include building and maintaining capital relations with Blue Vista’s institutional investor clients, family offices and high net worth individuals, as well as representing the firm’s various investment opportunities.
Previously, Ms. Katz worked at Merrill Lynch as Vice President of institutional equity research sales, and was responsible for marketing and covering institutional accounts across the Midwest. She was also a member a of seven-person Capital Placement Team in the US responsible for raising over $2 billion in public and private equity from institutional investors to finance companies and investment funds affiliated with Security Capital Group. Ms. Katz started her career as a corporate lawyer at Kirkland and Ellis where she focused on representing private equity clients.
MARCIA MATALON MAY Senior Vice President Ms. May in her role as Senior Vice President at Blue Vista is responsible for all aspects of asset management for a diverse portfolio of properties throughout the United States. Prior to joining Blue Vista in early 2015, Ms. May worked at GE Capital Real Estate as a Sr. Asset Manager and also as a Sr. Operations Manager. She is a solution driven real estate professional with over 25 years of real estate experience including asset managing debt and equity investments in excess of $3.3B. She has worked with all major property types including multi-family, office, retail, industrial and hotels; she also has experience closing new loan transactions.
MATTHEW J. SCHOAF Senior Vice President Mr. Schoaf is a Senior Vice President at Blue Vista. His primary responsibilities include sourcing, structuring, underwriting and executing transactions on behalf of the Blue Vista Middle Market Equity funds. Prior to joining Blue Vista at the beginning of 2015, Mr. Schoaf was a Vice President at Mesa Development where he was responsible for sourcing and evaluating new acquisition and development opportunities; asset and capital management for Mesa’s real estate portfolio; and investor relations. Prior to Mesa, he was a strategic team member involved in the development of Verrado®, an 8,800-acre, master-planned community in Arizona. Mr. Schoaf also had previous Associate-level roles at Transwestern Investment Company and Jones Lang LaSalle’s Capital Markets Group.
