Colliers adds industry veteran to Minneapolis office

John McCarthy has joined Colliers|Mineapolis-St. Paul as senior vice president. He joins the Colliers team of Mark Kolsrud, Pete Carbonneau, Peter Loehrer and Lydia Paasch.

The team will focus on office and industrial investment services.

McCarthy made his first real estate investment at the age of 14, buying his first rental property with his mother near their home in Brainerd, Minnesota. After graduating from St. Cloud State University’s G.R. Herberger College of Business, McCarthy began his career brokering apartment buildings and then became a property manager for institutional-grade office buildings.

He transitioned to brokerage, working with The Shelard Group, United Properties and Cushman & Wakefield during his nearly four-decade career. Most recently, McCarthy served as senior managing director at Newmark’s Minneapolis office, overseeing operations and growing the team and revenue during his tenure.
