Colliers’ Minneapolis adds life science, health technology expert

Michael Anderstrom

The Minneapolis office of Colliers has added to its brokerage roster with the addition of Michael Anderstrom. On Oct. 1, Anderstrom assumed the title of associate vice president and senior advisor of life science and health technology real estate services.

Prior to Anderstrom’s hire, Colliers MSP had more than a half dozen professionals advising in the life science and health technology sectors. Most notably the team represented Discovery Square in Rochester, Minnesota, which is a long-standing partnership between Mortenson, Mayo Clinic and many other companies and institutions.

The addition of Anderstrom elevates the sector as a strategic focus for the firm, with clients benefiting from Anderstrom’s years of experience supporting companies through the process of research commercialization.

Anderstrom joins Colliers from The Brookshire Co., where he spent two years as a broker representing clients in the sale or leasing of lab, cleanroom manufacturing and flex space. While in this role, Anderstrom successfully built and launched an online platform geared toward helping medical and biotechnology companies find clean lab and research facilities.

Prior to his career in brokerage, Anderstrom worked in the medical device industry in a variety of sales, operations and business development roles. By leveraging his background in ISO 13485, cGMP, cleanrooms and FDA Regulatory and Quality requirements, he has provided valuable expertise to medical device and pharma business leaders seeking a flexible and compliant real estate footprint, and landlords requiring specialized knowledge to list and market life science properties to the industry.
