Each year, Midwest Real Estate News elects a new class to its Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame. Last year, despite its challenges, was no exception. Here’s a look at the busy career of Carl Conceller, principal of NAI DESCO in St. Louis.
During his 41-year career in commercial real estate, Carl Conceller has varied experiences including 10 years with a national design build firm, five years facility consulting and 31 years in brokerage. Conceller possesses the knowledge, skill and experience to assist his clients in navigating a winning strategy in complex negotiations.
Conceller has completed sale, lease and consulting transactions involving office, medical, healthcare, senior living, industrial, land, investment, sale-leaseback and 1031 tax exchanges on behalf of individual owners, corporate and not-for-profit clients. To date, he has completed more than 575 transactions totaling approximately 6.5 million square feet valued at $600 million.
“Commercial real estate has given me the opportunity to use my experience, knowledge and skills to assist my clients in making informed decisions in the development of real estate strategies in the management, acquisition and disposition of commercial property,” Conceller said.
As a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and a Designated Specialist in office and industrial market segments, Conceller takes pride in long-term relationships he has developed with clients. He has represented them in numerous repeat engagements to achieve their real estate and facility objectives.
“One element I attribute to my success in brokerage is to remember that we are in a service business with many competent brokers and I have attempted to deliver first-class, high-quality, reliable, responsive service to my clients 24/7 to achieve their commercial real estate needs,” Conceller said. “On a personal level I bring a work ethic that embodies the intensity, trust, honesty, tenacity commitment and persistence to deliver results.”
“Often, we work behind the scenes because of the need to maintain the confidentiality of the information and data that our client has entrusted and shared with us,” Conceller continued. “The gold star of achievement is to develop a long-term relationship that yields repeat engagements.”
Conceller has held board memberships for the various professional organizations that he is affiliated with, including a stint as past chapter president of SIOR, board member and past chairman of Commercial Information Exchange, past chairman of economic development and commercial committee for the Missouri Association of Realtors and past president and chairman of legal action committee for the St. Louis Association of Realtors, Commercial Division.
In his spare time, Conceller, an avid Cardinals fan, travels, golfs, trout fishes and enjoys good food and wine.
