The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation has hired Tom Nelson as its new vice president of business development for the regional economic development organization serving the Iowa counties of Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson and Emmet.
Nelson will replace the corridor’s former vice president and entrepreneur-in-residence Brian Dalziel, who resigned earlier this year after 11 years of service for the organization.
Nelson currently works for Minnesota-based Community and Economic Development Associates. In his position with this organization, Nelson administered loan funds, created new programs for business development, oversaw the construction of multiple projects, negotiated incentive packages and led an entrepreneur support program.
A graduate of Bethel University, Nelson has been a soldier in the Minnesota Army National Guard since 2013, joining as an enlisted soldier. He is a member of the American Legion and Sons of the American Legion, and is the former director of the Minnesota American Legion Boy’s State Program.
