Minnesota’s Kraus-Anderson names director of operations

Shawn Lortscher

The Rochester, Minnesota, office of Kraus-Anderson has promoted Shawn Lortscher to director of operations.  He has served as KA’s senior project manager since 2015. 

Lortscher succeeds Nick Leimer, vice president, who continues in the expanded leadership role of area director for KA’s regional offices in Minnesota and North Dakota.

Lortscher has a background managing construction projects in multiple business sectors, including healthcare, education, government, housing and hospitality.  Some of his major projects include the Kahler Grand Hotel remodel, Miracle Mile Shopping Center (Avani) mixed-use and apartments Landmark by the Rivers in La Crosse and numerous projects for Mayo Clinic and Mayo Foundation.

He also managed numerous Minnesota education projects, including Maple River PK-12 School in Mapleton; Stewartville Intermediate School in Stewartville; Northside Elementary, St. James High School and Armstrong Elementary in St. James; George W. Gibbs Elementary in Rochester; Pipestone Elementary in Pipestone; Southland School District, and Bluff View Elementary and Lincoln High School in Lake City.  In addition, he oversaw construction of South Central College in Mankato, Winona State University Education Village and several projects for Western Technical College in La Crosse.

Lortscher received his B.S. in Construction Management from Mankato State University.  He is a LEED- Accredited Professional and holds a Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC) from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.

He is a member of the Builders Exchange of Rochester, Minnesota Rural Education Association, Rochester Area Builders Inc., Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and Rochester Area Economic Development.
