Sarunas Rumsa joins HDR as education, science and tech principal

Sarunas Rumsa, AIA, LEED AP, has joined HDR as an education, science and tech principal, based in Chicago. His responsibilities include leading efforts to deliver exceptional education, science and technology projects in Chicago and the surrounding area.

Joining HDR is a return of sorts for Rumsa, as he worked for CUH2A (which has since been acquired by HDR) from 1997 to 2005. Since leaving CUH2A, he has held senior-level positions with Booth Hansen, M+W Group and Bancroft.

“It is wonderful to be working with Sarunas again,” said Warren Hendrickson, regional director for education, science and tech. “Throughout his career he has made important contributions to sustainable, high performance environments that have enabled discoveries and positively contributed to their communities. I look forward to working with him to continue that important work with HDR.”

An architect with over 30 years of experience, Rumsa has held senior roles in design, architecture and lab planning on projects encompassing a variety of building types including research labs, high containment labs, data centers, water fabrication facilities and high performance computer centers.
