Oak Hill Supportive Living Community

Skender Construction has recently completed construction on a diverse trio of senior housing developments throughout the greater Chicago area. Skender completed each project ahead of schedule, in less than one year. The projects are:

  • Oak Hill Supportive Living Community, a new 72,000-square-foot independent senior living facility located in Round Lake Beach. Developed by The Crown Group Inc. and designed by Gleason Architects, the 94-unit facility includes a community dining room, theater, billiards room and therapy center, as well as such exterior amenities as a greenhouse, extensive walking paths, gazebo, community garden and playground. The project utilized HUD and IHDA funding and was completed in nine months.
  • The Residences of Lake in the Hills, a new two-story, 90,000-square-foot senior housing complex in Lake in the Hills. Developed by DKI Inc. and designed by architect NORR, the 92-unit facility rests on a 5½-acre site and offers studio, one- and two-bedroom accommodations. The project utilized IHDA funding and was completed in nine months.
  • Lakefront Residences of Grayslake, a new 75,000-square-foot affordable senior housing development by Mercy Housing Lakefront in Grayslake. Designed by Harley Ellis Devereaux, the building features 70 apartments for adults over 55 with incomes below 60 percent of the area median income, as well as amenities such as a community room, kitchen, library and wellness center. The project utilized IHDA funding and was completed in less than 12 months.
