Summit Design + Build LLC has recently begun the complete structural renovation and conversion of four existing connected buildings into a mixed-use facility at 401 N. Morgan St. in Chicago.
The building, which is situated at the northeast corner of Morgan and Kinzie streets, was formerly home to Salisbury by Honeywell. This project is one of the first major developments north of the Metra tracks in the West Loop and is expected to facilitate the expansion of redevelopment in the area. 401 N Morgan LLC is the owner/developer of the project.
According to Patrick Brown, senior project manager leading the project team for Summit Design + Build, the new 88,000-square-foot complex will house a restaurant, micro distillery, high-tech office workspace and a multi-purpose event space featuring a new roof terrace offering views of the Chicago skyline.
John Marosi, superintendent of Summit Design + Build, will be responsible for the construction of 401 N. Morgan. Thomas Roszak Architecture is the project architect. C.E. Anderson & Associates P.C. is the structural engineer and W-T Engineering Inc. is the MEP engineer for the project.
