Danny Nikitas, Avison Young principal and managing director of the firm’s Chicago office, announced the appointment of leading property management specialist Terri Maurer.
Effective immediately, Maurer assumes the newly created position of senior portfolio manager in Chicago and will assist in growing the firm’s property management services. Maurer brings to Avison Young more than 30 years of experience in property management, redevelopment and the repositioning of commercial real estate in downtown Chicago.
Maurer has worked in senior-level property management roles for many of Chicago’s leading commercial real estate firms, including Reit Management & Research LLC, Amerimar Chicago Management Co. Inc., Equity Office, Fifield Development and Fifield Property Management. Her additional career achievements include involvement in the $350-million renovation of the vacant 1.5 million-square-foot landmark Montgomery Ward warehouse into 600 West, a dynamic office, retail and parking complex.
Maurer is a member of BOMA Chicago, NAIOP and The Corporation for Research and Educational Networking (CREN). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
