The Central Ohio chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, has named the Columbus, Ohio, office of VanTrust Real Estate, LLC as the 2021 Developer of the Year.
The association’s highest honor recognizes the developer that best exemplifies leadership and innovation in the commercial real estate industry. The award was presented to Andy Weeks, executive vice president of VanTrust, at the NAIOP Annual Awards Gala held at the Marriott Columbus University Area on November 11.
“On behalf of the entire team at VanTrust, we are thrilled to be recognized by NAIOP as the 2021 Developer of the Year,” Weeks said. “We have always been committed to exceeding expectations, and this past year tested our resilience amid the COVID crisis. We continued to move forward and succeed in a challenging environment and are extremely proud that VanTrust has emerged at the forefront of our industry in Central Ohio. We are gratified that we have become known for delivering exceptional quality to our Central Ohio clients, and very much appreciate the association’s recognition of that excellence.”
While leadership is the cornerstone for selection as NAIOP Developer of the Year, innovation is also a primary consideration. During the past year, VanTrust has demonstrated its originality through the development of notable projects in Central Ohio. The Pointe at Polaris is a mixed-use use development that includes luxury apartment units, street-level retail space, and class-A office space. State-of-the-art office buildings have been developed on Blazer Parkway in Dublin, as well as in New Albany. And a one-million-square-foot industrial building near Rickenbacker Airport – known as Rickenbacker Exchange at Commercial Point – is one of the largest warehouses in the region.
VanTrust is also dedicated to serving the community. In addition to its ongoing support of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the company also supports and contributes to several other organizations throughout Central Ohio such as the Columbus Foundation (including the Coronavirus Emergency Response Fund), and the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. In addition, VanTrust is an active and committed member of NAIOP’s Central Ohio chapter, having joined 11 years ago upon opening its Columbus office.
