On March 8—International Women’s Day—RE Journals hosted its 3rd Illinois Real Estate Journal Chicago Women in Real Estate Event. We returned this year in-person to the beautiful Ivy Room to hear from several empowering women who continue to make their mark on CRE in every corner of the industry.

Kicking off the event? Esteemed Sue Myers, CREW President-Elect Senior Vice President of Real Estate, Development & Hospitality, Assurance, a Marsh & McLennan Agency, followed by several panels that offered valuable career-related insight and anecdotes to veterans and newcomers, alike.

And though the panels might have been geared toward leading females, Chicago Women in Real Estate 2022 also attracted industry males. In a full-circle moment, one man rose from his chair to tell the panel that he, too, faced similar experiences as a single parent that raised three children while working as a professional in CRE, and sought advice on how to help his now-adult daughters pursue successful and professional careers.

This exemplifies just how things are changing. We’re thrilled to be involved in the shift as we continue to learn from Chicago’s Women in Real Estate today and every day.
