Chicago-based @properties has completed the lease-up for 61 Banks Street, a new 58-unit luxury apartment building developed by Draper and Kramer Inc. The building, located in Chicago’s Gold Coast, reached full occupancy in just seven months.
Located at the corner of Banks Street and Lake Shore Drive, 61 Banks Street was the first new-construction building built on Lake Shore Drive in the Gold Coast in 35 years. Designed by Booth Hansen Architects, with interiors by Darcy Bonner and landscaping by Jacobs/Ryan, the eight-story building features two- and three-bedroom apartments and maisonettes ranging from 1,439 to 2,681 square feet.
“There is a growing segment of the luxury city market that is perfectly happy to rent for two or three years, or longer, and is willing to pay a premium for flexibility and high-end luxury,” said Kathleen Ullo of @properties, who was on the leasing team.
Apartments at 61 Banks Street feature keyless unit entry; 10-foot-plus ceiling heights; custom European-style kitchen cabinetry and floor-to-ceiling windows. Amenities include a 24-hour doorman, valet parking, concierge, fitness center and landscaped rooftop terrace. The building is located in the heart of the Gold Coast, across from Lake Michigan and less than a half-mile from Oak Street Beach and the Magnificent Mile.
