Echo Development Group, Inc., in partnership with Lafayette, Indiana-based Synergy Development, has acquired about 8.36 acres of land at the northeast corner of DuPont Road and Diebold Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The project will feature a mixture of restaurant, retail and healthcare uses and will include a Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers restaurant on the hard corner. Freddy’s is a Wichita, Kansas-based fast casual restaurant chain that is rapidly expanding throughout the country. This will be the first Freddy’s location in the Fort Wayne Area.
Additional plans for the project include a proposed medical office building, sit-down restaurant and a multi-tenant retail center.
Located in the northeast part of Ft. Wayne, about one-half mile east of the full interchange off I-69, the trade area is dominated by Parkview Health’s Regional Medical Campus (6,250 employees and 9,000 daily visits), Manchester University’s College of Pharmacy, DuPont Hospital and a future Meijer grocery store that is scheduled to break ground across the street in 2021.
Echo Development was represented by Jackson Investment Group on the purchase of the land and is working with Engineering Resources, Inc. for the civil infrastructure design. The seller was represented by Barry Sturges of Sturges Property Group. Although Echo Development is in active discussions with the Allen County Department of Planning Services, a project timeline has not yet been established.
