The Laramar Group names chief investment officer in Chicago office

The Laramar Group, a national real estate investment firm, promoted Ben Slad to Chief Investment Officer. He will work from the company’s Chicago office.

Slad was previously Senior Vice President of Investments and has two decades of acquisition, investment and management experience.

In the new role, Slad oversees a team of investment professionals with experience in acquisitions, dispositions, capital markets and finance. He is responsible for investment activities nationally focusing on the multifamily and medical office sectors.

Since joining Laramar, Slad has been involved in transactions totaling more than 20,000 units, 650,000 square feet of commercial properties, and $2.5 billion of value, investing on behalf of institutional and private capital partners. In addition to more traditional multifamily investments, he was instrumental in the creation of the Local by Laramar investment strategy and brand and the Laramar Medical Properties platform. Slad is a member of the firm’s executive committee and investment committee.
