After more than four decades in publishing, Mark Menzies retires from REjournals

After more than four decades in the publishing industry, Mark Menzies, senior vice president and national publisher with REjournals, is retiring today.

Menzies has been a guiding force at REjournals, helping to guide the company through everything from the 2008 Great Recession and the switch to online publishing to the COVID pandemic and the rise of AI. Along the way he built lasting relationships and friendships with the men and women in the commercial real estate industry.

Menzies spent 29 years working with Law Bulletin Publishing, the publisher of Midwest Real Estate News, Illinois Real Estate Journal, Chicago Industrial Properties and other CRE-focused trade magazines. He then spent an additional seven years in the industry after these publications were purchased by REjournals.

Mark Menzies will spend plenty of time with his grandson Beau during his retirement.

During this time, he oversaw the growth of key industry publications Midwest Real Estate News, Illinois Real Estate Journal, Chicago Industrial Properties, Michigan Real Estate Journal, Wisconsin Real Estate Journal, Minnesota Real Estate Journal and REDNews.

Menzies now looks forward to spending time with his first grandchild, grandson Beau who is 10 months old. He also plans to travel with his wife Julie and spend time with his four children.

We’ll miss Mark and his steady, guiding hand!

Jay Kodytek, senior vice president at REjournals, will be taking over much of Menzies’ workload. You can reach him at [email protected].
