Winstead PC adds shareholder to Real Estate Development & Investments Practice Group in Houston

McCall Grimes joined the Houston office of law firm Winstead PC as a Shareholder in the Real Estate Development & Investments Practice Group.

Grimes brings a distinctive combination of in-house leadership and private-practice transactional experience to Winstead. He advises sponsors, developers, and investors on a broad range of real estate and strategic transactions, including institutional joint ventures, acquisitions & dispositions, development projects, financings, recapitalizations, fund formations and investment platforms.

Grimes most recently served as General Counsel of The Dinerstein Companies, a multigenerational Houston-based real estate developer and investor with longstanding focus on multifamily and student housing across the United States. As General Counsel, McCall was a member of the company’s executive leadership team and Investment Committee and advised company leadership on transactions and investments nationwide.

Grimes began his legal career as a corporate associate at Vinson & Elkins, where he represented public companies, private equity sponsors and financial institutions in capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments. His experience included advising issuers and underwriters on public and private equity and debt offerings, including initial public offerings and follow-on transactions, as well as counseling sponsors and portfolio companies on acquisitions, dispositions and other investments. Grimes earned his J.D. in 2014 from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center and his B.B.A from Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business.
