Charter Construction celebrated the topping out of The Motley’s first residential tower, marking the completion of the concrete structure for the 26-story building rising at 1401 Church St. in Midtown Nashville.
The project team and trade partners celebrated the milestone at a topping-out ceremony on Sept. 3. The event included a catered barbecue lunch for workers to recognize the crews whose work helped raise the tower to its full height.
The Motley is developed by IPB Properties, with Axiom Builders serving as general contractor and Nashville-based HASTINGS Architecture leading the design. Charter Construction is providing turnkey structural concrete services for the project.
The first phase of construction includes a 26-story residential tower with 326 rental residences, ground-floor retail and an extensive collection of resident amenities. The tower is expected to welcome its first residents in 2027.
The project is being developed on the former Country Delite Farms property and will create a three-tower community with nearly 1,200 residences and a mix of retail, dining, public gathering spaces, and other commercial uses. The design incorporates architectural references to the property’s previous industrial use while establishing a new residential and commercial destination along the Church Street corridor.
For Charter Construction, the topping out represents another milestone in a growing portfolio of major projects shaping Nashville’s skyline.
