The Steward Family Plaza, a walkway and vertical garden, will open Oct. 18 outside the Sheldon, a venue for concerts and art galleries in St. Louis.
The grand-opening celebration will feature a concert by jazz saxophonist and Missouri native David Sanborn.
Designed by architect Benjamin Gilmartin, Steward Family Plaza connects The Sheldon with the Jack Galmiche Public Media Commons to the south and Washington Boulevard to the north. The project has been in the works since planning began in 2013.
The plaza features a three-story, 208-foot-long vertical garden along the entire west wall of The Sheldon’s Emerson Center building.
