CBRE, Inc. and CBRE|Martin have decided not to renew their affiliate agreement covering operations in Grand Rapids and Lansing, Michigan.

CBRE|Martin offices in those markets will remain CBRE affiliates through the end of 2018, at which time the local firms will drop the CBRE branding and change its operating name to Martin Commercial Properties, which is the existing legal entity.

CBRE and CBRE|Martin have had a long-standing relationship, and both firms expect that relationship to continue. The two firms will continue to collaborate to serve clients on current assignments in progress and expect to work together on a non-exclusive basis on certain new assignments in the Grand Rapids and Lansing markets going forward.

“CBRE thanks Van Martin and the firm’s professionals for their dedication and efforts in serving clients,” said John Latessa, president of the Midwest Region for CBRE. “We wish them continued success.”

“Our organization is and has always been a private, family-owned company. All of our operations and support services are completely independent, so this transition will have minimal impact on our clients or the way we do business,” said Van Martin, chairman and chief executive officer of Martin Commercial Properties. “We appreciate the 20-year partnership with CBRE. Going forward we remain committed to best in class service to our clients and employees, and we look forward to our next chapter.”

CBRE has a wholly-owned office in Detroit.
