QUARTERS, a new community way of living, recently celebrated its grand opening in Chicago’s Fulton Market district. Medici Living Group helped to pioneer the new living experience in Germany; Naperville-based Caton Commercial Real Estate Group, representing Medici Living Group, helped bring this concept to Chicago.
The QUARTERS co-living concept is aimed at young professionals, entrepreneurs and millennials and provides all-inclusive housing and built-in networking opportunities. It is a lifestyle built on community that includes access to a network of like-minded people and modern technology all in the comfort of your own home.
“This new trend in living is not about a single room but about the whole experience,” said Gunther Schmidt, QUARTERS founder and CEO. “We not only offer an easy housing solution but also a community that shares similar ideas and passions. The networking opportunities are endless and QUARTERS has weekly events to help build your social network.”
The co-living concept provides the answer to many startups employee housing woes. It offers companies the opportunity to lease an apartment to house its employees who have just relocated or are seeking a community-living lifestyle. It’s a concept Caton Commercial Real Estate Group is taking beyond Chicago.
“Following the success of QUARTERS in Europe and New York City, Chicago was a prime market to bring the upscale co-living concept,” said Steve Caton, co-owner of Caton Commercial Real Estate Group. “We are having immediate interest not only in other parts of Chicago but around the country. QUARTERS is looking to aggressively expand in the US.”
With leases available for as little as three months and only a 30-day notice necessary to move out, QUARTERS offers flexibility for transient tenants. Once in the QUARTERS community, a resident can transfer to other QUARTERS locations.
QUARTERS Chicago, located at 171 N. Aberdeen, features 75 modern apartments with 175 quarters. Apartments are offered as a studio or 1-5 bedrooms with a communal kitchen and bathrooms. The building also includes a common kitchen, lounge, outdoor grills, outdoor fireplace, outdoor lounge, skyline bar seating, chaise and cabana loungers and a recreation lounge located on a fully finished rooftop deck overlooking Chicago’s skyline.
The apartments come equipped with the latest smart home technology allowing tenants to use the QUARTERS app to access keyless entry into apartments and quarters, open/close the private room door, main entrance, lights and heater. Each quarter is fully-furnished with high-end appliances and Casper mattresses, sheets and pillows.
The app also allows tenants to lease, make payments and gain access to member support. Additionally, tenants can use the app to network worldwide, sign-up for community events and book exclusive services.
In just six years, Medici Living Group has become the world’s largest provider of co-living spaces. The Berlin-based company has plans to open new co-living buildings in every major U.S. and European city in the next 12 to 24 months and to expand its offerings in Chicago.
