Irgens on June 2 marked another milestone in the construction of the BMO Tower at 790 N. Water St. in Milwaukee with one of the largest concrete pours in Wisconsin history.

The concrete foundation pour was scheduled to begin just after midnigt on June 2 and continue for 25 hours, wrapping up early in the morning of June 3.

Four concrete pumps will pour 6,700 cubic yards of concrete to create the foundation for the BMO Tower. The concrete will weight 13,980 tons, the equivalent of 36 Boeing 747s. There will also be 84 miles of rebar in the foundation, weighing 580 tons.

BMO Tower is slated for completion in late 2019. Once complete, it will add more than 380,000 rentable square feet to the downtown market. BMO Harris Bank and Michael Best have signed on as the building’s largest tenants.

Colliers International services as the leasing agent for BMO Tower. J.H. Findorff & Son is the general contractor. The architect is Kahler Slater.
