CBRE’s Chicago office recently represented Boxcar Betty’s in a 1,725-square-foot lease at 500 West Madison Street in Chicago. Home to one of the busiest commuter stations in the nation, 500 West Madison continues to build on its retail offerings by attracting best-in-class and unique food and retail operators.
Boxcar Betty’s is a Charleston, South Carolina-based purveyor of gourmet chicken sandwiches. The company uses locally sourced products to craft all-natural, cage-free, antibiotic-free fried or grilled chicken sandwiches. Rated by Southern Living as “the best fried chicken in South Carolina,” this will be Boxcar Betty’s first Chicago-area location and the first location outside of its native South Carolina.
CBRE’s Phil Golding represented Boxcar Betty’s and CBRE’s Todd Siegel and Kim Wiskup represented the landlord, KBS Realty Advisors. “This is a highly visible, mindful way to introduce a powerful brand to the greater Chicago retail market,” said Golding. “The foot traffic, confluence of other great dining options and the population density will secure a healthy, immediate customer base.”
