Thanks in part to the help of CBRE|Martin, a new Costco Wholesale store opened in October in East Lansing, Michigan. The warehouse club retailer sits on a 64-acre former golf course parcel on Saginaw Highway and Park Lake Road.
Shawn O’Brien, senior vice president of brokerage services with CBRE|Martin, began working with Costco in 2012, when the retailer was first looking for a representative to assist them with market evaluation and site selection for the Lansing market.
O’Brien, in addition to helping Costco officials find the right site, also worked to gain the entitlements necessary to gain approval from Costco, the city of East Lansing, Meridian Township and federal, state and county jurisdictions.
The new store is 152,000 square feet.
