Members of the Chicago Chapter of CoreNet Global in late May packed potatoes, assembled boxes and checked expiration dates on canned goods while volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
The food depository provides food to 650 food pantries serving families in need throughout the Chicago area.
The Chicago Chapter of CoreNet Global participates in several community events each year. Chapter members have helped the depository pack for the past two years.
“Our members value the work they do both in business and for their local communities,” says Office Concept’s Gordon Hill, member of the Community Reinvestment Committee of the Chicago Chapter of CoreNet Global. “They donated both canned goods and time this weekend, and we’re very proud of their efforts.”
In past years, members of the Community Reinvestment Committee have donated their time to a variety of causes including planning and building the New Horizons community garden in West Garfield Park, renovating homes with Rebuilding Together for National Rebuilding Day and collecting school supplies for underprivileged schools. These activities allow CoreNet Global members to network while giving back to the community.
