After evaluating several relocation options in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, the American Health Information Association recently signed a 34,780-square-foot lease renewal at 233 N. Michigan Ave.

Though pleased with its premier office location, AHIMA faced an outdated infrastructure that could no longer handle its rapidly growing IT needs. The association considered several sites before concluding that the most favorable long-term solution was to remain at 233 N. Michigan and develop its infrastructure to meet current demands. The decision will allow AHIMA to maintain its employee base and provide for headcount growth without adding square footage – all while achieving a considerably lower cost structure.

Studley Executive Vice President John Goodman, along with Senior Managing Director Tiffany Winne, represented AHIMA in the transaction. The landlord, CommonWealth, was represented by Colliers International’s Drew Neiman and Christy Domin.

Studley has been serving as AHIMA’s exclusive strategic real estate advisor since 1997.
