Meridian Design Build recently completed the renovation of a 237,855-square-foot industrial building at 284 Lies Road in Carol Stream to accommodate a new regional distribution center for Kerry Ingredients & Flavours. Improvements to the facility were completed on a design build basis in less than eight weeks.
The scope of the project involved significant improvements to the building to accommodate its use as a food grade distribution center including renovation of existing office and employee facilities. Lighting was upgraded throughout the climate controlled facility to incorporate energy efficient T-5 lighting with motion sensor controls.
Kerry Ingredients is occupying the facility under a long-term lease with STRS Ohio. Ken Franzese, John Cassidy and Walter Murphy of Lee & Associates represented the landlord and Trevor Ragsdale of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Kerry in the transaction.
Bob Kolcz, project manager, and Greg Suthers, superintendent, coordinated the project for Meridian. Architectural services were provided by Harris Architects.
