Western States Machine Company earlier this month announced that it will relocate to Fairfield, Ohio. This is good news for the region, as the move will bring new jobs and revenue to the area.

Officials with Fairfield and Western States celebrated the company’s move during a Nov. 19 ground-breaking ceremony at the company’s new 10.6-acre site on Commerce Drive in the Fairfield Commerce Center industrial park.

The company’s new facility will include a 76,000-square-foot office-and-manufacturing headquarters. The company also now has additional acreage at the site in case it wants to expand in the future. Again, this is good news for the economy of Fairfield.

Western States Machine Company was founded in 1917 to develop machinery for the sugar industry. Today, the company remains a supplier to both sugar and other industries.

The company will bring 67 jobs to Fairfield, jobs that will come from Western States’ current facility in Hamilton, Ohio. The company is investing $6.5 million in the relocation, a figure that includes $4.6 million in new building construction.

The Schueler Group of Companies, located in Lebanon, Ohio, have played an important role in bringing Western States to Fairfield. Henkle schueler & Associates/CORFAC International leases and manages the Fairfield Commerce Center, and is a company that falls under the Schueler Group umbrella.

At the same time, Bunnell Hill Construction, also a Schueler Company, is managing the construction of the new facility.
