Meridian Design Build was recently selected to act as general contractor for an 81,543-square-foot self-storage facility in Wheaton for The Lock Up. The new four-story facility will be located adjacent to the Main Street Marketplace shopping center at the northwest corner of Main Street and Geneva Road.
The building will offer climate controlled and drive-up units and will feature covered loading bays with secure access to accommodate the needs of its clients. The project is Meridian’s second for The Lock Up, with construction currently underway on a 73,000-square-foot four-story facility in Bonita Springs, Fla.
Peter Stadler, senior vice president, and David Lukas, associate project manager, are coordinating the project for Meridian. Architectural services are being provided by Partners in Design Architects and civil engineering work is being completed by Watermark Engineering Resources Ltd.
