NAI Hiffman represents Jewel in Des Plaines DMV lease

NAI Hiffman recently represented Jewel Food Stores Inc. in its new lease with the Department of Motor Vehicles of Des Plaines at 1500 Lee St.

The 9,000-square-foot space between Forest Avenue and Oakton Street is the relocation of the Nile’s DMV which recently closed; The new Des Plaines DMV will open in October 2013.

Jennifer Hopkins, Mike Meksto and Jim Tsevis of NAI Hiffman’s retail services group, successfully won the state bid and negotiated the transaction on behalf of Jewel. The shopping center is anchored by a 53,000-square-foot Jewel grocery store and has an additional 16,458 square feet of retail space, including the space that the Des Plaines DMV will occupy.

The immediate area is a retail hub including Starbucks, Kmart, Goodwill, RadioShack, Discovery Clothing, Auto Zone, Cardinal Fitness and several other retailers.
