Earles Architects and Associates starts construction on Brad’s Deals office expansion

Earles Architects and Associates has started construction on an 18,000-square-foot office space for Brad’s Deals, a fast-growing internet coupon and consumer deals company that is moving from another floor in the 640 N. LaSalle building and expanding its office space by 12,000 square feet.

Brad’s Deals is moving its corporate office from the 5th floor, where it has 6,000 square feet, to the 4th floor, where the space can accommodate approximately 100 employees. The company is a source of online coupons and deals for consumers.

EAA designed the space with an open floor plan and a focus on team work, collaboration and a sense of shared space. This type of design is a significant shift away from the traditional corporate layout that separates employees by departments and designates office space based on an employee’s job title. Instead, this floor plan includes a mix of work stations and offices, some of which are unassigned and can be used by any employee.

“This space reflects the company’s innovative culture and its focus on providing employees with a work environment designed to stimulate and encourage creativity,” said Dan Earles, principal and founding partner of EAA.

All work areas are positioned to take advantage of views of Chicago’s skyline. Glass interior walls are being added to help enhance the sense of openness and allow natural light to filter in.

The floor plan also includes themed conference rooms, quiet rooms and a multi-purpose employee lounge. The lounge was designed to function as personal workspace or relaxation space, and also can be configured for office-wide meetings and presentations.

Construction is expected to be completed in January of 2014.
