The University of Chicago has hired CBRE to exclusively represent it in the structured sale-leaseback or financing of the first phase of the Harper Court property located at 5235 S. Harper Court in Hyde Park.
Harper Court Holdings LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of The University of Chicago, will be providing a 20-year master lease for the property.
The recently completed mixed-use project at 53rd Street and Lake Park Avenue was developed through a partnership between the University of Chicago and the City of Chicago. The mixed-use project is a Class A institutional quality asset, consisting of approximately 223,775 rentable square feet on 3.2 acres with 150,000 square feet of office space occupied by the University of Chicago, 42,275 square feet of retail space and a 31,500-square-foot LA Fitness Center as well as structured parking for approximately 417 parking spaces.
CBRE’s executive vice presidents Mike Vesper and Jeff Shell are the primary contacts representing the University of Chicago in the sale.
