Teavana has chosen 3428 N. Southport Ave. for the home of its first Chicago Teavana Fine Teas + Tea Bar location. The newly constructed 1,780-square-foot store is scheduled to open in late April.
Baum Realty Group Principal Adam Secher and Senior Associate Jonathan Feld arranged the retail lease on behalf of Teavana. The first Teavana Fine Teas + Tea Bar opened in New York City in October 2013 and the company plans to open 1,000 stores in North America within 10 years.
“Southport Avenue is an ideal location for Teavana to make its mark in Chicago” Feld said. “Their new tea bar concept caters perfectly to both residents and patrons visiting neighborhood retailers like Anthropologie, lululemon, Gap, and Athleta. The warm and inviting atmosphere of the tea bar will make it a go to place between work and home for everyone to enjoy.”
Acquired in December of 2012, Teavana is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Starbucks Coffee Company. Teavana Fine Teas + Tea Bar is a modern tea bar with a wide range of unique hot brewed and iced teas, innovative tea lattes and tea infusions. The stores also feature food items designed to complement the tea flavors, loose leaf teas and tea blends. Like other Teavana locations, the Southport Avenue store will offer an expansive selection of premium loose leaf teas and tea accessories.
