Kitchfix, the healthy meal delivery service that creates and delivers chef-crafted, ready-to-eat delicious meals for busy professionals and families, has signed a lease to open its first retail storefront location. Located in the Gold Coast at 1165 N. State St. on the ground floor above Chicago SWEAT, the 1450-square-foot facility is expected to open to the public in the spring of 2015.
Kitchfix’s first retail storefront will offer its signature healthy pre-packed meals, salads, sides and snacks all available for take-away. Seating will also be available for customers to enjoy the locally sourced, organic, gluten, soy and dairy-free meal lineup, in addition to made-to-order superfood smoothies, organic bulletproof coffee and an assortment of the only house-made bone broths in Chicago available on-the-go.
“We’re always looking for ways to deliver more value. Since convenience is a top priority, we felt opening a Kitchfix store would highly benefit our customers, ” said Chef Josh Katt, CEO and founder of Kitchfix. “We are so excited to be able to make our healthy and delicious meals even more easily accessible.”
The chef-crafted, nutritious and never-frozen meals will be delivered to the store fresh each morning from Kitchfix’s main location in West Town. Store hours will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, with reduced hours on the weekend. Self-serve reheating will be available for Kitchfix’s pre-packed meals and self-checkout kiosks will be available for on-the-go customers. The store will share an entryway with SWEAT, a fitness studio that specializes in quality high intensity group fitness classes and personal training. The two companies plan to offer cross-promotional food and fitness packages in the near future.
Since launching in 2013, Kitchfix has grown tremendously to become the local leader in the healthy lifestyle industry. The company has expanded beyond its meal delivery service into retail and catering for Chicago’s top professional athletes and businesses. Kitchfix’s Paleo Granola products can be found in the aisles of Chicago-area Whole Foods and Mariano’s grocery stores. In addition to opening their retail storefront, Kitchfix will be expanding to a new 5,000-square-foot commercial kitchen and office space located at 1731 W. Grand Ave. in March.
