Danny Nikitas, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company’s Chicago office, announced the strategic hiring of industry veteran David Herbert and rising young real estate professionals Clark Evans and Michael Crenna.
Effective immediately, Herbert becomes a Principal while Evans will serve as a Senior Associate and Crenna as an Associate, based in the Chicago office. All three join Avison Young from DTZ in Chicago, where Herbert was a Senior Vice-President, Evans a Senior Associate and Crenna an Associate.
In their new roles, Herbert will focus on advising corporate users on all aspects of real estate solutions, including capital markets services. Evans will be responsible for cultivating new business for Avison Young in the Chicago area and nationally, performing market research and conducting financial analysis; while Crenna will continue with his business development role for the team, concentrating on the downtown Chicago market with a focus on media and technology companies.
“We’re delighted to have David join us in Chicago to play a leading role as we expand our presence locally and nationally,” comments Nikitas. “David is a highly regarded commercial real estate veteran who will add both capital markets and transaction advisory expertise to our Chicago operations. His versatile background and skill set will have a positive impact on the total package of real estate advisory services that Avison Young can offer to our clients here and across the U.S. He is a great addition to the Chicago team and highly respected in the local and national real estate communities.”
Nikitas continues: “Clark is an up-and-coming professional whose research and analysis will be vital to clients as the U.S. continues to recover from the Great Recession. He will also play a critical role in aligning clients’ real estate needs with their business strategies. Michael has really proven himself on the business development side of the business in a short period. As he grows and develops, he will be one of the rising stars of the firm.”
Avison Young opened its first U.S. office in Chicago in January 2009 and has expanded steadily in the local marketplace and Midwest region since then. With the three additions, says Nikitas, the firm is poised to further expand its footprint in Chicago and provide a higher level of service to clients nationally and internationally.
