Mid-America Real Estate-Wisconsin’s Management and Leasing divisions and Speedwagon Properties, the new owners, are ready to make significant changes at the Southport Plaza and Indian Trail Plaza retail centers in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
These two neighboring shopping centers, totaling more than 612,000 square feet, sit at the intersection of Highway 50 and Green Bay Road in Kenosha.
Southport Plaza was initially built in 1994 for Target, Kohl’s Department Store and Jewel Foods by Raymond and Associates of Northfield, Illinois. Indian Trail Plaza followed in 2006, with Lowe’s Home Improvement Center.
The anchors today include Gordman’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Cinemark Theaters, Kohl’s Department Store, Hobby Lobby and Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, along with more than 40 other retailers and more than 10 restaurants. Both shopping centers have a combined occupancy of 90 percent with available leasing opportunities of freestanding restaurant buildings, small shop retail spaces and junior anchor spaces.
Kenosha has recently seen a steady increase in retail development. A 154,000-square-foot Costco Wholesale Club opened in June on 17 acres at the Shoppes of Prairie Ridge development. Meijer recently held the grand-opening of its supercenter store on Green Bay Road.
