Xavier, an 18-story, 240-unit apartment building designed by GREC Architecture and the second Chicago property for Gerding Edlen, is located at 625 W. Division in Cabrini Green and is scheduled to open this fall.
The building will provide a mix of studio, one-, one-den and two-bedroom units in a sustainable building with locally sourced materials and energy efficient design contribute to its anticipated LEED Gold Certification.
Sustainability highlights contributing to LEEDGold certification include:
- Locally sourced, recycled-content materials include ceramic tile and wood flooring.
- Non-toxic finishes, including paints, adhesives and sealants, contribute to a clean indoor air quality.
- Units and common spaces are complete with Energy Star-rated appliances and low-flow fixtures.
- Electric car charging stations service the parking garage.
- Auto tinting in the Leasing Office helps moderate glare and temperature.
