The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has announced that their annual conference, RECon, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 health emergency. The event, which drew approximately 30,000 attendees last year, had been scheduled for May 17 to 19 in Las Vegas.
“The health and safety of our members is ICSC’s top and guiding priority. Since I communicated with you this Wednesday, March 11, 2020, the impact of the COVID-19 situation has rapidly escalated,” ICSC president and CEO, Tom McGee, said in a statement. “In consultation with member leadership, including ICSC’s chair, vice chair and executive board, we have decided to extend the suspension of all ICSC events, including RECon, through June 30, 2020.”
ICSC is currently evaluating potential new dates and alternatives for RECon later in the year.
