Lansing, Michigan-based Clark Construction Company has made two strategic promotions to its executive leadership team.
Laurelyn Hewitt has been promoted to the role of Vice President of Human Resources. Hewitt holds a Master of Business Administration from Walsh College and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Lawrence Technological University.
She has over 15 years of experience in Commercial Construction and field operations, and over 12 years of experience in Human Resources Leadership. Hewitt is a prior SHRM Chapter President, and has served on the state MISHRM board. She is an active member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and a founding member of National Women in Roofing (NWiR).
Hewitt has been at Clark since 2018 and has successfully led recruiting, training, and development efforts for the team. She has also worked collaboratively with executive leadership as part of the Strategic Planning team and Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee.
Janice Suchan has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Suchan holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy, and continues to serve on the college’s Advisory Board. She received industry recognition as an “AIA Detroit Young Architect” of the year and Crain’s “40 Under 40.”
The AIA also recognized her and her team with 12 AIA design awards. With 25 years in the industry, Suchan has held several operational and leadership roles and is heavily involved in her community, including serving on the ACE (Architecture, Construction + Engineering) Mentorship Board.
