ABODO report: Midwest cities see big swings in apartment rents

Milwaukee saw the biggest monthly increase in apartment rents this September, according to the latest national apartment report from apartment search company ABODO.

In its September report, ABODO said that the average monthly rent for one-bedroom apartments in Milwaukee jumped 12.8 percent in September to $1,054. That’s up from $934 in August.

Minneapolis also saw a sold gain, with the average one-bedroom rent here jumping 6.1 percent in September, according to ABODO. One-bedroom units rent for an average of $1,348 in September, up from $1,270 in August.

Another Midwest city saw a significant drop in one-bedroom rents in September. In Green Bay, Wisconsin, the average one-bedroom unit rents for $604 this September. That’s down from $625 in August, according to ABODO. That ranks as the fifth largest monthly decrease tracked by the company.

For two-bedroom apartments, Louisville saw average rents jump 6.1 percent to $1,093 in September. That’s up from $1,030 in August.
