Tishman Speyer announced that veteran broker Adam Mitchell has joined the firm as managing director of leasing for the Midwest region. Alongside managing director Ellen May, Mitchell will help to oversee leasing activity for Tishman Speyer’s large office portfolio in Chicago, totaling 7 million square feet.

In addition to prominent properties such as CME Center and The Franklin, the portfolio will include 320 North Sangamon currently under development in Fulton Market, and the planned 1.3-million-square-foot office tower at 130 N. Franklin Street. He will also help oversee leasing strategy in certain other markets as Tishman Speyer continues to grow.

Mitchell joins Tishman Speyer after 20 years at Savills, the major global real estate brokerage firm, where he served the needs of corporate occupiers in Chicago and nationally, with a focus on major markets through the Midwest. Over that time period, he facilitated more than 15 million square feet of leasing transactions for companies in a variety of industries, including legal, financial services, technology, healthcare and manufacturing.

“Adam has developed and demonstrated a remarkable knowledge of the region’s commercial property market over the years and has helped many corporations successfully secure the best headquarters and other facilities to meet their space needs,” said Tishman Speyer senior managing director, Ryan Botjer. “He has gained a sterling reputation advising and representing large clients requiring multiple locations, with optimal results. Adam’s client-centric approach fits perfectly with ours and is a major reason why we welcomed the opportunity to bring him on board. He will play an important role as we continue to grow within the Chicago marketplace and elsewhere.”
