Adolfson & Peterson Construction, Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture and the City of Greenville recently completed construction of two major community recreation projects: the new Greenville SportsPark Center and the expansion and renovation of the Reecy Davis Sr. Recreation Center in Greenville, Texas.
Located at 6705 Monty Stratton Pkwy., the new Greenville SportsPark Center is a 120,390-square-foot recreation and athletic facility designed to serve residents of all ages. The facility features four wood gymnasium courts for basketball, volleyball and pickleball, two indoor synthetic turf courts with multipurpose sport overlays, and a fitness center with cardio and strength-training equipment along with a group fitness studio, locker rooms and an indoor leisure pool. The facility offers something for the entire community with an indoor walking and jogging track, multi-purpose rooms, outside fitness balcony, aquatics center and event lounge, as well as wellness spaces and child watch. These spaces allow for recreation programs, leagues, camps, tournaments and special events.
AP also completed the expansion and renovation of the Reecy Davis Sr. Recreation Center, located at 4320 Lee St. Originally constructed in 2002, the existing 18,177-square-foot facility underwent extensive upgrades, including new gymnasium flooring and improvements to restroom lighting, plumbing and floor finishes. Renovations also added a new weight room, enhanced the aerobics room, game room and office spaces. The project added a new 13,655-square-foot expansion featuring an additional gymnasium, game room and flexible multi-purpose spaces, creating expanded opportunities for recreation, fitness and community programming for Greenville residents. These spaces are vital to the community, especially as Greenville is one of America’s 15 fastest-growing cities.

Construction on both projects began in September 2024. AP partnered with BRS Architecture on the projects, continuing a longstanding relationship that previously included Allen’s Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center.
The City of Greenville recently celebrated the new recreation center’s grand opening, bringing together city leadership, residents, employees and project partners. Community members were able to hear from the project partners, as well as tour the new facility, officially welcoming the new space designed for recreation, connection and community.
