Alan Van Dellen is a shareholder at Leonard, Street and Deinard, where he chairs the real estate practice group of 21 attorneys, one of the largest commercial real estate practice groups in the Upper Midwest.
Van Dellen has practiced exclusively in the area of commercial real estate transactions for more than 22 years. His practice focuses on health care real estate, purchases and sales, leasing transactions, commercial development, workouts and brownfield redevelopments. His specialty areas also include hospitality law and health care related real estate transactions.
Prior to joining Leonard, Street and Deinard, Van Dellen was an associate attorney in the real estate department at Mayer, Brown & Platt where he represented lenders and real estate owners in connection with complex financing transactions and work-outs. Representative clients included Continental Bank, N.A., Travelers, TIAA, JMB, The John Buck Company, Security Capital and Archstone.
Van Dellen is a Minnesota State Bar Association Board Certified Real Property Law Specialist and was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of real estate law.
He frequently acts as Minnesota counsel to nationally recognized clients on complex real estate transactions as well as nationwide counsel on complex real estate acquisitions and financing. Van Dellen is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, NAIOP, the Minnesota Shopping Centers Association and ICSC.
