Anderson Companies has started site work and construction on a new grocery store for Lunds and Byerly’s in Edina, Minn.
The project includes the construction of a new Byerly’s store adjacent to the company’s existing store on France Avenue and Hazelton Road that has been operating in Edina for more than 40 years. The new store is expected to open in late summer/early fall of 2014. The existing store will remain open and accessible during construction.
“Working with Lunds and Byerly’s on this new development has been a wonderful experience for our entire team,” said Greg Anderson, chief operations officer for Anderson Companies, in a written statement. “We believe the new store will create a wonderful shopping experience for their customers and the overall development will enhance this prominent Edina address.”
The new 51,565-square-foot Byerly’s store will include everything from a full-service bakery, deli and meat and seafood departments to certified-organic produce, Caribou Coffee and Bachman’s floral arrangements. A key new feature at this location will be a Creations Café offering a wide variety of fresh, made-to-order options for lunch and dinner.
