Multidisciplinary architecture and design firm Hoefer Welker is relocating its corporate headquarters to 46 Penn Centre in the Country Club Plaza area of Kansas City, Missouri.
The firm will make the move to the self-designed 26,229-square-foot office space on the 14th floor of the building in June 2023. Hoefer Welker’s new address will be 4622 Pennsylvania Ave., Suite 1400, Kansas City, Missouri 64112.
Hoefer Welker completed the 46 Penn Centre project in 2020. Hoefer Welker President Rob Welker says the company is excited to move into a high-profile space they designed in the heart of the Country Club Plaza.
The fully custom office space designed by the firm itself includes a living room, kitchen, two cafés, a terrace, a design lab, multiple studio collaborative areas where teams can maximize their creativity and innovation, and conferencing areas that provide focus rooms and quiet zones. The office encompasses the entire 14th floor and is designed with growth in mind as the firm anticipates 24 percent growth in the coming years.
Located near the upscale homes and luxury condominiums in the heart of the Country Club Plaza, 46 Penn Centre is a 15-story high-rise that features glass paneling, a stone cladding base and precast, a two-story main entrance lobby, stone-clad columns, granite flooring, a digital tenant directory, access to covered balconies on all floors, and an LED panel that showcases local artists.
Hoefer Welker’s design for the office tower earned a 2021 Kansas City Business Journal Capstone Award for Offices and was listed in the Kansas City Business Journal’s Top Construction Projects of 2019 and 2020 and Biggest Construction Projects of 2018.
After spending the past 13 years at its current Leawood, Kansas, headquarters, the company is returning to the Country Club Plaza – next door to its former office location. While the Leawood location provided a space for the firm to increase in clients and employees, expanding its footprint to Dallas and Jacksonville, it has outgrown the space and is ready for new growth.
Other tenants in Block Real Estate Services’ 46 Penn Centre include Block Real Estate Services, CrossFirst Bank, Pulse Design Group, USB Financial Services Inc., Triad Capital Advisors Inc., Fisher Phillips, LLP, and Parris Communications.
