Oakbrook Terrace-based ARCO/Murray National Construction Company Inc. recently completed a 90,000-square-foot office build-out for Lawson Products’ new corporate headquarters at Triangle Plaza, 8770 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. in Chicago. ARCO/Murray’s Interiors Division completed the $5 million fast-track project in 13 weeks. Lawson’s approximately 600 employees relocated from Des Plaines in early May.
Lawson Products contracted ARCO/Murray to design and build their modern and updated office environment to recruit talent to its growing, 60-year-old industrial supplies distribution business. They selected ARCO/Murray, which is also constructing their new 306,805-square-foot distribution center in McCook, for its expertise in commercial office interiors, skilled project team, and range of capabilities both locally and nationally.
ARCO/Murray was able to incorporate green construction practices by securing a $45,000 ComEd incentive to provide energy efficient lighting throughout the four floors of the corporate headquarters. Also, according to a LEED construction waste management report, ARCO/Murray was able to divert 91.5 percent of all demolition debris from landfills. They constructed numerous training/executive classrooms with folding walls and audio/visual systems.
