ARCO National Construction’s Omaha division recently joined Woodbine Manufacturing Co., manufacturer of Tommy Gate hydraulic liftgates, to celebrate the groundbreaking on a new 345,200-square-foot build-to-suit manufacturing facility in Woodbine, Iowa. The ceremony marked the start of construction on a major investment in the company’s longtime Woodbine operations.
The facility will include 40,250 square feet of office space and a 2,200-square-foot mezzanine, along with expanded production and support areas designed around Tommy Gate’s manufacturing operations.
The building will feature 24-foot clear height, six dock positions, two drive-thru doors, tilt-up concrete construction, and an insulated metal panel wash bay. Aggregate piers below the floor slab and shallow foundations will support the facility.
Manufacturing infrastructure will include 3,000-amp electrical service and lighting ranging from 30 to 50 foot-candles throughout production areas. The facility will also include an ESFR fire protection system supported by a 1,500 GPM electric fire pump and 150,000-gallon water storage tank, along with a 45-mil TPO roof membrane with R-25 insulation.
