Associa Chicagoland hands out $1000 checks to each of the families in all 49 units of the Fountains On Carriageway Condos who were displaced after the March 4 fire.
The checks were gifts from Associa Cares, the community management company’s non-profit disaster relief foundation. On March 19 those were dispersed at the Associa Chicagoland office along with food, clothing and gift cards.
“The reaction from the displaced residents when receiving the check for $1,000 was overwhelming. Many of them cried, and so did our staff,” recalls Director of Business Development Erica Horndasch. “They were so grateful to have the support and help of Associa and had wonderful things to say about the event and how quickly things are moving in just two weeks.”
In addition to monetary assistance, the community also donated food, jackets, toiletries, shoes and toys which were all received and appreciated by the residents. If you are interested in making a tax deductible donation, specific to displaced residents at this community go to Associa Cares.
