Avison Young negotiated a 96,810-square foot lease on behalf of Biddeford Blankets at 13820 S. Business Center Drive in Green Oaks, Illinois. The heated blanket manufacturer is moving to Green Oak Business center from a Mundelein, Illinois location that it occupied for the last 15 years.
Avison Young principals Michael Fonda and John Hauser, who are based in the company’s Chicago office, represented the tenant in the lease. The building owner, Colony Capital Inc., was represented in-house by vice president Scott Cordes.
“We were pleased to assist Biddeford in moving to a modern, Class A facility that is well suited to their distribution needs,” said Fonda. ” We continue to see businesses looking for modern, efficient space that can help streamline operational costs and support business growth.”
Biddeford Blankets provides heating blankets, heated mattress pads and heated throws via e-commerce and major retailers. Microlife is a world market leader in the development and production of medical diagnostic equipment for use in home and healthcare facilities.
“The move to Green Oak Business Center will allow Microlife/Biddeford to continue to grow to meet market demand while also increasing efficiencies,” said Larry Peckler, director of operations for the company.
The building includes 3,305 square feet of office space. Just outside of Lake Forest, Illinois, the park was built in 1997 and offers proximity to I-94 via a full interchange at Buckley Road.
